Physiotherapy can help you:
- decrease pain
- regain shoulder mobility and strength
- reduce scar tissue
- improve lymphatic flow
- support overall wellbeing through craniosacral therapy
Once tissue is cut open, scar tissue forms. This tissue is usually not as extensible and mobile as the normal tissue. When tissue is healing the areas around it are ‘tugged’ and ‘pulled’ towards the healing scar. This may lead to your shoulder not being able to sit in its optimal position or some of your ribs may feel really stuck.
By using gentle techniques (lymphatic drainage, acupuncture, kinesiotaping) to help encourage more extensibility of muscle, fascia, lymphatic flow your shoulder, ribcage, fluid flow will have less pain and be more free.
Assessing and treating scar tissue no matter how old can also make a surprising difference in your freedom of movement.
